  1.                    Transcendence BBS goes Freeware
  2.  
  3.   I have decided to release Transcendence BBS Version 2 as Freeware. 
  4. There are quite a few reasons as to why I made this decision.
  5.   
  6.   1)  My job.
  7.   2)  The amount of my free time that is being taken up in porting the 
  8.       BBS to a new language.
  9.   3)  The amount of work I am putting into overhauling the BBS and so 
  10.       on.
  11.   
  12.   I will no longer be adding new features to version 2 but, will be 
  13. taking suggestions for version 3. Bug fixes will still occur if it is 
  14. something major. I will still be giving support to the current owners 
  15. with answers to questions, helping out with problems, etc. on my BBS 
  16. and on GEnie in the BBS RT. Once version 3 is released, version 2 will 
  17. no longer be supported.

  19.   A KEYCODE.DAT file will no longer be required in order to have the 
  20. FULL working version.
  21.  
  22.   Due to version 2 becoming Freeware and the amount of changes that 
  23. will take place in version 3, there will be no manual released for 
  24. version 2.
  25.   
  26.   All currently regestered owners of version 2 will be able to upgrade 
  27. to version 3 for a small fee. The upgrade fee and release date for 
  28. version 3 has not been decided at this moment.

  30.   If you have purchased the BBS since Jan. 1, 1994 and you would like 
  31. to have your money back, then please send email to Sysop on my BBS. My 
  32. BBS number is located on the WaitCall screen.
  33.   
  34.   Transcendence may be distributed FREELY. A small fee for materials 
  35. (shareware/PD disk) may be charged.
  36.   
  37.   The new version may be downloaded from my BBS after 11:00pm on Feb. 
  38. 20, 1994. This version will have the code removed that checks for the 
  39. KEYCODE.DAT file. A new version will be uploaded to GEnie in the BBS 
  40. RT Libraries soon.

  42.   Southern Software retains all rights. The BBS is still Copyright (c),
  43. 1989 - 1994 Southern Software.
